In Now let’s play to disappear (I) y (II) I have replicated cities in wax that are been consumed slowly and that disappear as a response to the progressive violence that the contemporary City suffers. This installation is a big scale architectonic model conformed by dozens of lighten wax candles, each of them with the shape of different buildings that altogether rebuild a global city made with iconic buildings throughout the world (Ex: Liberty Statue, USA; Eiffel Tower, France; The Vatican of Rome and Florence Baptistery; The Petronas Towers in Malaysia; the Revolution Square in Cuba). By lighting up the candles and letting the fire to consume the buildings I’d like to create a metaphor of the ephemeral and fragility of the cities, that can be destroyed in short time.
