This installation is a look at the landscape and the garden as idyllic and mythologized spaces, bearers of a certain hierarchy and distinction within the urban fabric. The work proposes a contrast of images, that of a city in crisis and in constant change, to that of the calm and perfection of our private garden. The juxtaposition of the violence of the urban landscape to the peace and intimacy of the landscape. The garden as a construction and a reminder of our impossibility of knowing the “earthly paradise” we dreamed of, and of our lack of contact with nature. The garden as the Borgian metaphysical and spiritual labyrinth, as encounter and refuge of our spirituality and our intellect. (Carlos Garaicoa)
