Public intervention in Havana City
Polychrome plaster object
The proposal Tribute to the Six / Homenaje al seis, based on the number “6” located at Reina and Belascoaín, constitutes a different proposal within the group of interventions carried out in Havana during the 1990s. Due to its purely visual character and its deep-rooted functional references (number used to indicate the mileage of a street), this plaque does not address a specific contextual reality, nor does it seek to disrupt or reread the referents of this context, but rather to make a visual rethinking of it in its monetization.
The hermeticity of the visual does not promote it, and even less the characteristics of the place itself, but it does take up from another principle: a new approach of the eye to the urban banal.
