In this installation I try to dismantle the hypocrisy that hides behind the massive landing, in the Chinese architectural and urban planning field, of those architects who today make up the star system of international architecture, and the games of the power societies. It is a vision of how this star system allows itself to be duped by Chinese finances; of how this authoritarian society manages to steal the soul and the image of Western architectural thought. The installation is made up of books by Western architects who, with the Chinese economic explosion, contributed important buildings to many cities in the Asian country.
Small monitors attached to the books show videos of the Chinese flag flying on many of these massive buildings. The design and assembly of these books as modernist furniture, rests on a Chinese table of the nineteenth century. (Carlos Garaicoa)
