Memorias Íntimas Marcas explores the connections between local, individual trauma and a historical catastrophe that has left its effects felt throughout the Southern African sub-region. It focuses on the relationship between Angola and Cuba, and on the most dramatic moment of their military confrontation: the battle of Cuito Cuanavale. The images invite us to meditate on the ghosts that remained after this decisive historical mutilation.
