This installation reproduces the Haus der Kunst Museum in Munich, where the famous exhibition “Degenerate Art” took place, 1937 during the fascist regime. This German building was built to house what for the Nazis was considered true German art, as opposed to avant-garde art, called by them “degenerate art”. It is a symbolic representation, made of transparent glass and devoid of the attributes of the heavy material characteristic of German constructions of this period, more attached to the classical codes.
EIt is understood as a reflection on the avant-garde and modernity versus the decadence of Hitler’s conservative and retrograde thinking.
