Deleuze and Guattari arranging the rhizome

Deleuze and Guattari arranging the rhizome, 2008

Installation. Hammers, nails.

Variable dimensions.

This installation was first presented in the solo exhibition “Revolution or Rhizome”, Galleria Continua, Beijing (2008).

It has subsequently been part of other exhibitions at Château de Blandy-Les-Tours (2009), MAMM, Medellín (2010), CAB de Burgos (2011) or Galleria Continua, Paris (2023).

There are many reflections that I have addressed within my work, and one of these has to do with the idea of Accumulation which, in turn, has been intrinsically related to the definition of Rhizome in the French philosophers Deleuze and Guattari. Rhizome as numerical growth and questions of infinity. I think this idea of construction ad infinitum of the numerical sum, can be applied to Chinese culture, whether in historical terms, in its social projections, and more recently in its economic and artistic avalanche.
