From images of enormous circulation in the daily press, Garaicoa creates a new philatelic collection (Aniversario) inspired bi a stamp issued in 1940 designed by R. Klein and based on a photography of Heinrich Hoffman-, Wich commemorates the 51 anniversary of the birth of Adolf Hitler. A gallery with president faces and political figures is under suspection on these stamps: What functions do certain images fullfill in the populist operations of power? How do certain icons of power circulate? Why do someone political gestures that transcend historical moments or ideologigal regimens repeat themselves?
